Jamie’s time in IndyNXT was a story of grit, determination and a historic milestone that left an indelible mark on the racing community.
In two seasons of twists and turns, the Bath native’s performance at the 2024 Grand Prix at Road America stood out as a testament to her skill and perseverance. But there were plenty of other highlights across Jamie’s time with Andretti Global, starting with her maiden campaign in the United States…

A new challenge

Jamie faced a number of new challenges in her inaugural IndyNXT season.
Adapting with each race and gaining confidence quickly, her progress became evident in the latter half of the year — delivering a strong run of performances and securing five top-ten finishes in the competition’s final eight races.
That included a P8 placing at Nashville’s Music City Grand Prix, before finishing P6 at the Grand Prix of Portland in September.
This upward trajectory laid a solid foundation for her to build on during the 2024 season.

Indianapolis impact

Jamie continued progressing in 2024 and went on to secure valuable points at a host of Grands Prix.
She achieved notable success in just her third race of the year, by securing a P3 finish at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway — the best result for a female driver in the series since 2010.

Historic triumph at Road America

The highlight of Jamie's season was undoubtedly her performance at Road America, however.
On June 8, 2024, she made history by clinching her first career IndyNXT pole position, becoming the first female driver to secure a pole on a road or street course in the series.
Then, starting from top spot, the Andretti Global driver delivered a masterful drive, leading the race from start to finish.
This flag-to-flag victory not only marked her maiden win but also made her the first woman to win an IndyNXT race since 2010, and only the third female driver to achieve such a feat in the history of the IndyCar development series.
Jamie showcased her tactical acumen during the 20-lap race — deliberately managing her pace to encourage battles behind her, stating that she wanted Louis Foster and Jacob Abel to fight on track for second as much as possible.

More points on the board

Having claimed top spot in just the sixth race of 2024, there was still plenty of time for Jamie to put more points on the board.
She placed P9 then P6 at the two Grand Prix of Monterey events, before once again posting a top-ten finish at the Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio.
A further P7 at the Iowa Speedway in mid-July helped the Andretti Driver achieve a season points total of 310, to finish a commendable seventh in the overall standings.

Legacy and impact

Jamie’s two seasons in IndyNXT saw her overcome a series of challenges and register some groundbreaking achievements.
Her historic win at Road America not only highlighted her talent but also served as an inspiration, breaking down barriers for female drivers in the sport.
As she continues her racing career, Jamie’s journey in IndyNXT will be remembered as a pivotal chapter in her story and a significant moment in racing history.
