Track guide

Located in Montmeló, just outside Barcelona, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been a staple in motorsport since 1991.
The circuit spans 4.7 kilometres and consists of 14 turns.
Sector 1: Begins with a heavy braking zone into Turn 1, followed by the sweeping uphill Turn 3.
Sector 2: Features undulating twists and a DRS zone leading into Turn 10 (La Caixa), with plenty of overtaking opportunities.
Sector 3: Finishes with high-speed right-hand corners that propel cars onto the long pit straight.

IDEC Sport's performances in Barcelona

IDEC Sport have put in some impressive performances at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in years gone by.
In the 2023 ELMS season opener, the team secured a third-place finish in the LMP2 category.
Drivers Paul Lafargue, Paul-Loup Chatin and Laurents Hörr started from the pits due to a mechanical issue, before incredibly going on to clinch a podium spot.

Minassian: Top five target

IDEC Sport Team Principal Nicolas Minassian is enthused by the challenge lying ahead in Montmeló.Speaking ahead of the 2025 campaign, he said:“Winter went by quickly once again! I’m really excited to start this new season.
“Two LMP2 cars, new drivers, and partners — there’s a lot of investment, so we’ve been working hard to be ready.
“Barcelona is a challenging circuit with tire degradation, so strategy will be very important.
“As for the goals for the first race, I prefer to stay humble. A top five would be a good start, as the championship is very competitive.
“It’s up to us to have a solid race, both drivers and the team, with no mistakes. From there, we’ll be in a good position to score big points in the championship.
“I have real confidence in both the team and the drivers across both cars. Everyone is motivated to perform at their best. Vamos a Barcelona!”
